Da gibt es bei Ferrero/Nutella offenbar ein Produktionsproblem. Die Nutella-Fabrik in Villers-Écalles
in der Normandie, die 25% der Welt-Nutella-Produktion herstellt, steht still. Warum auch immer.

Faszinierend sind aber die absoluten Zahlen:

600.000 Gläser in 24 Stunden - das sind pro Sekunde knapp 7 Gläser, oder wenn sie nur 12 Stunden am Tag arbeiten, 14 Gläser. Unvorstellbar, was da an Schoko-Nuss-Aufstrich produziert (oder jetzt gerade nicht produziert wird). Wenn ein Glas 10 cm Durchmesser hat, sind das aneinandergereiht 60.000 m oder 60 km am Tag, nur Nutella-Gläser nebeneinander.

Nutella produziert wieder, seit Montag. Die Welt ist gerettet.

Man muss wirklich nach dem richtig klein Gedruckten suchen...

Die Details mögen irrelevant sein. Das große Ganze zählt.

Der Wechsel vom Feuerwehrhauptmann in der IT zum Ruheständler ist anstrengend. Man ist ständig noch in Habacht-Stellung, wo man doch Ruhe haben könnte.

Die Entscheidung aufzuhören ist richtig, aber der Wechsel ist anstrengend. Vermutlich ähnlich wie beim Profi-Sportler, der aufhört, zu trainieren, und nur noch für sich selbst Work-out macht.

Microsoft hat sich entschlossen, die HTML-Engine von Edge durch die HTML-Engine von Chrome zu ersetzen.

Da Chrome gut läuft, könnte man sagen: warum nicht? Darum nicht:

This is already happening. I very recently worked on the Edge team, and one of the reasons we decided to end EdgeHTML was because Google kept making changes to its sites that broke other browsers, and we couldn't keep up. For example, they recently added a hidden empty div over YouTube videos that causes our hardware acceleration fast-path to bail (should now be fixed in Win10 Oct update). Prior to that, our fairly state-of-the-art video acceleration put us well ahead of Chrome on video playback time on battery, but almost the instant they broke things on YouTube, they started advertising Chrome's dominance over Edge on video-watching battery life. What makes it so sad, is that their claimed dominance was not due to ingenious optimization work by Chrome, but due to a failure of YouTube. On the whole, they only made the web slower.
Now while I'm not sure I'm convinced that YouTube was changed intentionally to slow Edge, many of my co-workers are quite convinced - and they're the ones who looked into it personally. To add to this all, when we asked, YouTube turned down our request to remove the hidden empty div and did not elaborate further.

Chrome hat nicht den besseren Code, sondern Google bremst bei Youtube gezielt andere Browserengines aus. Nur zur Erinnerung: Google war mal der Konzert mit dem Motto "Don't be Evil"...
